The EYFS outlines the learning and development, assessment and safeguarding and welfare requirements that all early years providers on the Early Years Register must meet to ensure children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
In addition to a hard copy of the EYFS, also included in this professionally printed and ring bound pack is the following non‑statutory guidance documents:
Development Matters in the EYFS supports the implementation of the statutory requirements of the EYFS. This guidance shows how the four themes of the EYFS framework for the principles that inform them work together to support babies and children. You can use Development Matters as a part of your daily observation, assessment and planning. It can also be used at points during the EYFS as a guide to making best‑fit summative judgements, with parents and colleagues across agencies, about whether a child is showing typical development, may be at wirk or is ahead for their age.
Early Years Outcomes aims to provide an understanding of child development through the early years. This document largely reproduces the goals and outcomes listed under the A Unique Child column of Development Matters.
